How to Live As If You’re Actually Stardust

Stardust quote

“You and I are made of stardust. We are the stuff of exploded stars. We are therefore, at least 1 way that the Universe knows itself. That, to me, is astonishing.” - Bill Nye

An important part of good mental health is flexibility of self-perspective.

What do I mean by that?

One perspective of ourselves is as human beings.

Another perspective is that we’re animals.

A third could be that we are just another aspect of nature, like the grass and trees and birds and bees.

You can have negative perspectives like we are violent beings.

Or a positive perspective like we are mostly kind and compassionate to each other.

All these perspectives are true.

The problem is when you get fixated on one perspective and believe that to be the absolute truth.

If you do that, and fixate on a ‘negative’ perspective, you may compound your suffering.

And if you fixate on a ‘positive’ perspective, you may fail to connect compassionately with those around you with alternate viewpoints.

So how can you cultivate a more flexible perspective on life?

By simply being open to considering different viewpoints.

In today’s guided meditation taken from our daily mindfulness club, I guide a meditation that helps to flex your perspective and see yourself as a star!

It is just another perspective and it’s a perspective that is as true as any other perspective.

If you listen to it, email me or leave a comment to let me know what you think. I’d love to hear your perspective.
