5 Unusual TEDx talks that Shift Your Mindset
/I’m a big fan of TED talks. And when they are on unusual, interesting topics, that’s even better!
Here’s some talks on everything from spirituality, overcoming perfectionism, the value of asking why, the power of creativity and how self-love is even more powerful than self-esteem.
1. Ending the pursuit of perfection | Iskra Lawrence | TEDxUniversityofNevada
With the advertisers obsessed with trying to make us feel inferior to sell us more products, this video is a great way to remind you what harm this can do, and how to overcome this narrow way of thinking.
2. Start with why -- how great leaders inspire action | Simon Sinek | TEDxPugetSound
This video is aimed at leaders in companies - but I think it’s relevant to us all. Whatever you’re doing, think about why you’re doing it. Your intention is what really matters.
3. My stroke of insight | Jill Bolte Taylor
This is a must see video if you haven’t already. An amazing story of a brain scientist having a stroke and discovering the power of letting go of logic and separation and seeing the world more holistically.
4. Do schools kill creativity? | Sir Ken Robinson
An entertaining and insightful video by educationalist Sir Ken, how strips down the value of finding your own talent and gift, and respecting that - not what others force upon you.
5. The Space Between Self-Esteem and Self Compassion: Kristin Neff at TEDxCentennialParkWomen
People often talk about boosting your self-esteem. But what about self-compassion? What is that, and is that more important?
Find out the differences, and why learning how to be kind to yourself is what really matters.
