Back when I was leading mindfulness sessions and mindfulness teacher trainings, I noticed a recurring theme—people loved the mindfulness classes, but they wanted more. They craved connection, not just to the teachings, but to each other. The sense of isolation that many felt, especially during the pandemic, highlighted the growing need for a dedicated mindfulness community.
Practising mindfulness alone can be powerful, but sharing that experience with others in a mindfulness group adds a whole new level of depth and richness. When we come together regularly, we not only deepen our practice but also cultivate a sense of belonging—a mindfulness support group where everyone feels seen, heard, and understood.
How the Daily Mindfulness Club Began
This realisation led to the creation of the Daily Mindfulness Club, an online mindfulness community designed to bring people together daily, even on weekends. What started as a small, humble experiment has grown into a thriving meditation community. We meet on Zoom every day, without the pressure of turning on cameras, to practise mindfulness together and support each other through life's ups and downs.
Our mindfulness network began with just a few members logging in from their homes, likely still in their pyjamas. The simplicity was beautiful. I guided a meditation, we enjoyed some silence, exchanged a few words, and then carried that sense of calm and connection into our daily lives.
The Benefits of Mindfulness Communities
To my surprise, this experiment quickly became a cherished daily ritual for many. People who once felt isolated in their mindfulness practice began to feel part of something bigger—a true mindfulness community. The benefits of mindfulness communities became clear as I watched members support one another, celebrate small victories, and hold space for each other's struggles.
The magic of the Daily Mindfulness Club lies in its consistency and simplicity. We haven’t missed a single day since 1st August 2020. We're not trying to change the world in one giant leap; instead, we take small, mindful steps together, leading us to a place of deeper connection, compassion, and presence. We've created a mindfulness practice group where people can show up as they are, without pretense or pressure—a powerful space for personal growth and community building.
